Reimagined — Digital Download

If you’re a fan of early 2000s pop-punk (think Relient K, Classic Crime, Sum 41, Lucky Boys Confusion), Augmented Me’s debut album will have you guzzling nostalgia while pondering lyrics that delve into the struggles and contemplations of an active Christian faith. With a touch of ska, a dash of harmonica, and even an all-acoustic anthem lamenting that awkward point in your life when you’re too old to be a kid, but too young to be taken seriously by the world, Reimagined will have millennials in particular catching their second wind. (And maybe third or fourth, depending on how fast they try to bounce to the music.)

These tracks are polished and professional, but their creation is important to note. I originally wrote, performed, and recorded these songs nearly 20 years ago using my Zoom MRS1266. I don’t have a great voice, and my guitars, bass, and drums were tracked on mid-level equipment and low-end mics in my bedroom. (Not exactly professional-sounding.) Fast forward to today and Suno’s 5.0 “Cover” feature, which allows you to, essentially, digitally “skin” whatever you upload and output professionally polished mixes. Using that feature, I uploaded my tracks and then took multiple iterations it provided for each one and edited, spliced, and mixed them in my DAW. My aim was to create final tracks as close as possible to my originals, beat for beat, and to retain the vocals the way I sang them, only with a more aesthetically pleasing tone.
